    My 12 year old loves this

    My 12 year old son checked this book out from the library most of the school year and did several projects. Bought this book so he could check out another book and keep this and work on his project all summer.

    Came in very handy!

    Hello! I bought this book, and hired a novice handy man to build a post and panel fence for me. We poured over the details in the book, and it turns out he'd been installing fences doing techniques that the book warns not to do. I took the book to the project store, and used the language from the book to quickly fill my cart. I was also able to dialogue with the sales staff (page open to the chapter!) to make sure I was getting it right. We did it by the book, and the fence looks beautiful! He surprised himself! I NEED to buy more in this series, for sure

    You will be glad you read THIS book before any first-time outdoor project!

    It's okay -- a more modern version of the dated Time Life series that offered a similar educational product. The text and illustrations are better than adequate. I'll admit that I have yet to attempt any of the offered projects, but I am grateful for having the insight of the authors close at hand. Would I have paid full price for the book? No. I am pleased that I got it on Ebay for less than half of the publisher's price.

    Excellent book for the beginner!

    Excellent book for the beginner! Built my deck following it. It has all the basics for outdoor projects, I actually bought it after using it from the local library just because I thought it is useful to have for future projects (retaining walls, stairs, etc). I think was missing siding from its projects

    nice book, has alot of do it yourself projects, from building and entire deck, to planting a garden bed. nice color pictures, and easy to read instructions
