This item actually exceeded my expectations as I suspect that it received a "dust and polish" prior to packing and delivery, which gave it a luster not evident in the photo supplied by the seller.
Thankfully, it had not been dunked in or sprayed with a watery, brown-mud common to many of the "Antique Chinese Bronzes" currently on offer for sale at eBay.
It seems that a layer of dried mud infers antiquity in the minds of the sellers of the items in some sub-categories of antique Chinese bronz
