Improved design gives great suction
Bought to replace a ten year old example with a larger 2200 watt motor. Miele have made some improvements to the design since then. The on/off switch is easier to operate and the compartment where the tools live has a lid that is less likely to come off its hinges. Suction power seems greater than the old machine and is more than enough. Great to have the extra suction should you need it. The C3 is the same basic machine but different model variations reflect the alternative tools available. I bought t the turbobrush with this unit and this is more effective and easier at cleaning carpets than the standard floorhead. A worthwhile tip is to buy a HEPA filter which noticeably improves the dust retention and curbs unpleasant smells. I bought a pattern third party filter not made by Miele for £6. I now have the equivalent of a "Cat and Dog" machine. This model is now obsolete. Later versions have a 1200 watt motor but I would imagine the suction is still more than adequate. The latest model has the 900 watt motor as made compulsory by EU rules from Sept. 2017.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Good vacuum for allergies
Very pleased with the Miele C3. Did need to buy the HEPA filter separately as it comes with a standard filter. Its light and easy to use. Has a long power cord which makes cleaning stairs very easy. The wand is also light making cleaning curtains and ceilings easy too. Able to access under the beds and nooks and crannies with attachments. The attachments are stored inside the vacuum which is tidy and convenient, always with you when you want them. It does use bags which have to be purchased and changed. More expense but if you are a allergy sufferer it is necessary. Bags have a seal that closes them on removal so you are not exposed to the contents. Excellent powerful Vacuum!
Having used my previous Miele cylinder vacuum for over 15 years, I am hopeful that this one will last for a long time as well. Initially, I am delighted with it. It is a powerful cleaner, but much lighter and easier to manoeuvre than my old one. I did also buy the optional "Cat & Dog Turbobrush" for our carpets, and am very pleased with it. We don't have a dog or cat, but it is a very effective tool for the carpets, and is easier to move around on them than the standard brush head. Miele 1600watt Powerline hoover
I have finally realised the foolishness of purchasing cheap vacuum cleaners. This machine is powerful and able to do everything one would need to do in a domestic home. It is very clean and I havn't noticed any fine dust being discharged from the exhaust. The dust is collected in a bag that is sealed as it is removed for disposal. Excellent suction
This vacuum cleaner picks up so much more dirt than my Dyson ever did, it's so powerful I use it on the lower settings or it lifts the carpet right up! It's really handy having all the tools inside although this does make it a bit bigger - I think the C2 is a more compact version of this but the tools are not stored inside. The C3 sits on the stairs fine so I'm happy with this size.
