    Mid Range Telephoto no VR

Wanted a cheap mid range tele-zoom, to use with my new Z7 which has in body 3 way stabilisation. After use I have been very impressed with the results from 70 through to 300. Centre sharpness is very good, edges a bit less. But at this price point it is great value for money, especially when it is currently reduced by £50

  • Good quality for the price

If you want a decent zoom lens, or want to take macro shots from a distance, this lens is a good quality choice. Tested outdoors in poor light, it gave decent quality images. Will be perfect on a tripod.

  • Sigma 70-300 Apo DG zoom

Smooth focus action with easy grip on lens that is very good even when your hands are cold. The markings on the lens are clear and easy to read. I tested the lens with a tripod and at both ends of the zoom range it produced good contrast and fine detail, and compared very favorably with my Nikon lenses that were a good deal more expensive.I would be happy to recommend this lens.

  • Great lens.

Good value for money. Useful tele zoom and full frame.

  • Sigma 70-300mm f4-5.6 APO DG Macro For Nikon

For the money this is a great lens, make sure you buy the correct one for your camera, there are 2 versions available one with a motor in the lens and one without. The Nikon D5000 and other Nikon cameras require the motorised version as they do not have auto focus motors in the camera body. Ensure you know before you buy. The APO version of this lens is far superior to the non APO lens and can be identified by the small red ring at the front of the lens. The macro is sharp and a useful addition, a word of caution is that the macro switch can appear to be stuck on. If you read the instructions and forum posts you will find it is a simple job to resolve by changing your camera settings. Remember the macro is an addition and the lens in NOT a macro lens so if that is what you are looking ...
