This is a great value everyday kinda lens. Light, quick to focus and sharp throughout the optical range. Good colour separation and edge sharpness on both full and cropped sensors.

Overall an excellent lens from Minolta and i will now upgrade my long zoom
Having owned the Minolta 7000i film camera for many years I finally upgraded to digital. The obvious choice was the Sony Alpha range as the lens fit is the same. I purchased this Minolta lens to replace my existing short zoom that had seen happier days and was impressed by its light weight and picture quality. Although the overall size is bigger then the previous lens it still fits in my zoomster bag. THIS IS AN EXCELLENT LENS IN EVERY WAY. I THINK IT EXPLAINS EVERY THING. ITS PICTURE QUALITY IS AS GOOD AS SONY A LENS AT A FRACTION OF SONY PRICE. QUALITY IS THE SAME.
