A cracking mythological sci-fi spy thriller adventure romp!
A great yarn - v imaginative world-building, mixing modern-day spy thrillers with mythology, sci-fi and deliciously bleak humour. The characters and dialogue are particularly lifelike and memorable, often cheekily subverting genre expectations. Will especially appeal to fans of Warren Ellis, Neil Gaiman and BBC Radio's "Mythos". And it shows some really profound reflections too on "folklore" and how national myths fuel the present. Only regret is that it feels like Cornell could have done even better, but was perhaps restricted by episode length and only having a limited number of episodes: I've read his other work, and it stretches out into character and story detail more satisfyingly than this.
