I went into this game not sure what to expect. "A Star Trek FPS game?! Really?" - I thought at first. But I love Star Trek Voyager, and love FPS games,so I tried it out. The one thing you should know about this game, is you must understand which era it came from: the early 3-Dimensional FPS Days. It tech in terms of polygons/graphics, they are somewhere between Sega Dreamcast games, or the First Half-Life game but with better textures): I'm not a graphics developer so that's the easiest way for me to describe them. If you can appreciate it for what it was when it was released then it's easy to say it looks very good. Now, with that aside - this game is required reading to any Star Trek Voyager fan! It has all the cast voice acting, is fun, and easy to pick up and play. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND making sure you have the expansion pack, the "Virtual Voyager" addition to the game lets you freely explore Voyager and find hidden collectibles, etc. I had a blast just getting to run around the ship with a tricorder. As for compatibility: dont worry! It runs fine on everything from Windows XP AND Windows 7 (I even installed on Window 7 x64 bit with no problems - just make sure to install with the "demo32" file instaed of the "setup.exe" file for 64 bit systems). The game even allows for mods and has a great console in-game that any Quake fan will be right at home with. NOTE: play the 2nd game released after this too, it picks up after the last episode of Voyager and continues the story!Read full review
Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force (with the expansion pack) is as good a FPS game as it gets. It's fun, exciting, challenging, has an original story-line, great graphics (for the time period) and cut-scenes that make you feel like you're part of the crew. And being able to tour Voyager, and play the holo-deck game "Captain Proton", are priceless experiences. Also, 7 of 9, and the rest of the crew, are well rendered! ;-)

Good Game Game Play Choosing between a male or female character you are Alexander of Alexandria Munroe, second in command of an elite squad of security commandos who’s mission is to defend the starship Voyager. Assuming you do not choose to play the tutorial which is very well done as you are taught by Lt. Commander Tuvok (Voiced by Tim Russ), right from the start you are thrust into the middle of a Borg Cube armed with nothing but a hand phaser and phaser rifle and you never look back. Way a head of it’s time Elite Force is a game that takes you into the darkest region of the galaxy where the Starship Voyager is savagely attacked by unknown and very familiar faces. Sound Authentic and familiar sounds straight from the Star Trek universe are infused into this game. Whether it be firing a phaser, opening a door, running from the Borg, you will feel simply by the sounds around you that you are actually inside the universe of the television series. With the entire cast of Star Trek Voyager lending voices to their characters you will fell as if you are inside an episode. AI While I truly loved this game I did find it’s AI somewhat lacking. Unlike some first person shooter games Star Trek Elite Force suffers greatly from the lack of a coherent team, while in a group in this game your teammates are little more then obstacles between you and your target. Most of the game is a solo mission and anyone who has played this game is happy for it. Graphics While this game has some age to it I think that even for its time the graphics seemed just a touch on the cartoon side. Considering games like Call of Duty 2 or Fable (Which is suppose to look more like a Cartoon anyway) came out just a few years later have MUCH better graphics I found these somewhat bland. It is not a distracting badness but it could have been better for how expensive it was when it came out. Multiplayer The Multiplayer for this game is indeed awesome. A huge selection of maps and frequently crowded rooms make the Multiplayer quite fun and sometimes challenging. Many game modes including capture the flag find players, sneaking, running and shooting at fellow players sometimes across the world. The Down Side As before mentioned with the Graphics and AI severely lacking, some players will find that the bad outweighs the good. If you are a graphic and/or teamwork freak this game may not be for you. Overall If you’re looking for a solid First Person Shooter Game I would absolutely recommend this. If you are looking for a highly charged Graphic game buy and play Call of Duty 2.Read full review
"SET IN THE STAR TREK UNIVERSE YOU TAKE CONTROL OF A MEMBER OF THE STARSHIP VOYAGER CREW AS YOU COMBAT THE BORG AND OTHER ENEMIES. THE GAME ALSO REQUIRES YOU TO SOLVE MISSIONS WITH THE HELP OF INTELLIGENT COMPUTER CONTROLLED TEAMMATES AND ALLIES. ALSO, VOICE TALENT FROM THE SERIES' ACTORS, PORTRAY THEIR CHARACTER IN THE GAME - PRETTY AWESOME STUFF!!! THIS IT BY FAR THE BEST "STAR TREK" GAME OF THEM ALL!!!" THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME AND HAVE A GREAT DAY...
Nothing new here, there's a few extra goodies thrown in to add some more fun to the original game. If you enjoyed the original Elite Force and want some more to do in the game, well then this is certainly for you. If not, then don't buy it, there isn't enough extra content to warrant the purchase. The virtual Voyager tour and the new holo deck level are a great deal of fun, but only if you're interested in Star Trek and not in having more engagements with the Hazard team. If the latter is what you desire, then Elite Force II is much more your style.
I thing this game is the best. I have played it many times and think it is the best star trek game made. I don't know what the other reviewer was thinking about it not running on windows XP. I have had no problems running it on an XP machine at all. Maybe it is because I automatically downloaded the patch for it before even playing it. If you are looking for a first person shooter based on star trek look no farther. This game has everything.
This is one of the few excellent Star Trek games. Graphics, though dated are still pretty good. That they used the voices of the original crew is great. Works with Window 7 64bit. Manually run autorun off the CD. It worked for me. There is also an expansion pack for this game. Highly recommended.
I'm happy with it.
