This is a really nice camera. The video option, especially with the articulated screen, is really useful. I used it today on a professional portrait shoot and it performed splendidly - sharp images, great battery life, clear display, ergonomic and comfortable to use over a long period. My main camera is a 5D mk3 but I am more than happy to have the 60d in my bag and see myself using it more and more.

These cameras are so amazing compared to what was available even 10 years ago! You cannot go wrong with buying a slightly older model to save hundreds of dollars. At the time of this writing I paid under $360 for my 60D, which is an incredible value for a fantastic camera. Prior to this I owned the 20D, which was great too, but lacked features such as sensor cleaning, flip-out LCD, video recording, HDMI, wireless connectivity, and more. I love my 60D!

I bought the 60D as I wanted to upgrade from the 450D but could not afford the likes of the 7D. This seemed to be the best alternative and I wasn't disappointed. I find this camera is nicely laid out easy access to menu buttons etc. The mode button has a lock on it which is handy it cannot be changed unless you depress the the locking button this stops it been accidently changed when getting it in and out of the camera bag. The 60D also features a moveable LCD screen which is handy for live view and shooting movies it also folds nicely into the camera and protects the screen when not in use, it also has a LCD panel on the top of the camera which can be illuminated if required. The general layout of the camera and function buttons are nicely spaced and easy to get familiar with. The 60D has many features including in camera RAW processing, creative filters, it has 18 megapixels and takes SD, SDHC and SDXC memory cards and has Digic4 processing. I cannot fault the picture quality certainly an improvement on the 450D, images appear crisp and sharp. The 60D has 9 AF point all cross type and a 63-zone TTL full aperture metering. You can shoot JPEG or RAW, JPEG sizes range from Large,medium,S1 (small 1) S2, and S3. RAW sizes range from RAW, M-RAW (medium-raw) and S-RAW. Overall I find this an improvement on the 450D and a better design and layout, I would class the 60D as a mid range DSLR, at the moment I cannot find anything I dislike about the Canon 60D.Read full review

I boughts the Canon 60D to replace my Lumix G (DMC-G3) equipment, great camera also, but I wanted an upgrade and get a proper SLR. I was reluctant at first due to the increased size and weight but after a couple of days using the camera I have absolutely no regrets. It actually feels good to hold a camera of this size and quality. I dithered between the Canon 60D and the Nikon D7000 for a few weeks but after trying both out in a camera shop I am very pleased I opted for the Canon. I read all the On-Line reviews from the Nikon and Canon faithful and decided I really didn't need to know half of what they were discussing and that the Canon had everything an advanced amateur like me would need. I really like the articulated screen as this gives you so many possibilities when taking shots at low angles or when the camera is supported on a mini-tripod. I have owned both Nikon and Canon film camera's in the past and this is without doubt the best camera I have every owned, on a par with the Canon 7D. The other reviewers have gone into great detail about what it can do so I wont bother to say anymore other than I highly recommend the the Canon 60D, one word...amazing!!!Read full review

I've upgraded from the canon 450D/rebel xsi to the canon 60D!!! I'm a keen photographer with an interest in movie making! This camera is great for this! It took a while to get used to the new layout but after a few days I was comfortably shooting and filming without an issue! The Q - quick access menu is great!!! speeds up the change in settings so much! The size is larger than what I'm used to, but I kinda like it! it fits in the hand A LOT better than it's predecessors! there is certainly an essence of durability and quality to the touch! The HD shooting feature is great, but you really need to shoot no higher than 1000iso or the quality is noticeably worse...a hotshoe flood light is essential for creating a pro feel to the footage! The tilty flippy screen is way more useful than I imagined, but ONLY if you're gong to be doing film! Also the spin wheel on the back is SO useful! I MUCH prefer it to the directional pad that the 550 offers. it just makes menu scrolling much nicer.......PLUS you can change aperture and shutter speed simultaneously and easily with the spiny wheel! Also, it shoot fantastically in low light...you can comfortably shoot on a high ISO setting and not worry to much about pictures being noisy! they've really improved this! The only bad things I have to say are minor...but the shooting mode wheel [on the top left] has a lock feature...you have to push down then twist...which really annoyed me as I've NEVER accidentally changed it in the past!!! But I got used to it very quickly and now it's no problem...just going from Manual, to Film takes ages as you have to spin it almost entirely... Secondly, the delete button is isolated on the top left, minor I know, but it just don't like it, just a personal preference...I sort out my files on the pc so it doesn't really matter... So top points!!!! flippy tilty screen is VERY useful, for self portraits, filming and getting down and dirty. Shooting in High ISO is not problem!!! Camera is big and robust! I quite like the weight and larger size as I've got large hands. It fits in the hand VERY nicely because of it's size. Heads up display saves battery and is useful when shooting in dark environments where you don't want to disturb people with your screen. Flash recharge time is improved and generally works better!!! On the down side, it's big and bulky, so be prepared to carry it around! if you want a more light weight DSLR I'd say go for the 600d. but if you're not bothered by size, this is definitely worth the extra cash!!!! overal, I think this is as professional as you're going to get without spending thousands! I love my new camera! It's really amazing! Highly recommend!! Spend that little extra and get the 60D over the 600d!! you wont regret it! =]Read full review
Good warm pictures, very clear, camera EOS 60D, I think I still prefer my Nikon P900 Bridge camera, as I only need a few extra filters ! With the Canon, it seems never ending with different lens for every occasion, and a major cost - still like it though !

Bought my 60D from Photodirect and had it within 2 days. At the price they charged very little problem deciding to buy this rather than the 550D. This is an excellent camera and it's great to have a rear control dial again after years with a 350D. That swivel screen is good for more than just video, for over the head shots or close to ground pictures. Folded in it also protects the screen better than any plastic film ever could. The camera may be plastic, but it's a lot lighter than a 7D. The 7D may have micro focus adjust and shoot more frames per second, but for me that's about it and I think the screen and much lower price more than makes up for that. If I wanted to upgrade this camera it would have to a 5D, well outside my price range. Don't gamble with an offshore seller such as those from Hong Kong. The price Photodirect charged may be a bit higher, but you won't have to pay duty if the package is opened. It can also use a Canon flash off camera, making for excellent pictures at this, gloomy time of year. I am really pleased with my purchase.Read full review
