    The item wasn’t as advertised. The item was advertised as a google chrome cast with goolge tv 4k (the 4k unit retails for approx £70 when new). However, the item I received was the hd version (which is inferior and retails new for approximately £35). This was rather frustrating and it took time out of my day to repackage and get to the post office. On a positive note the seller had good communication regarding the return.

    Great Product

    We were promised an extra V6 box for our upstairs television when we signed up to Virgin Media. Not surprisingly, Virgin didn't stick to their promise so I had to think of an alternative way to stream TV upstairs. This Chromecast has provided the perfect, easy to use and cost effective solution. It's easy to set up, you just follow the basic instructions which come in the box and then the on-screen instructions and you're good to go. It's compatible with all the major streaming apps such as iPlayer, YouTube, 4OD, Channel 5 Player etc on both Android and Apple. I highly recommend this item for those looking for a cheap and easy way to stream from their phone to their TV in perfect HD.

    Not good for what I wanted it for,but easy to set up and good less complex connections

    It may be that that is to do with my kit, but it did not work well with two music steaming services connected though my mobile to my smart tv and then through to my HiFi.. I had to use an HDMI cable connected to my laptop to get a satisfactory response. Good for simpler connections eg to world wide radio stations or NTathome. .

    Turns a dumb TV into a smart TV

    Does what it was advertised to do. My 'smart' Sony TV stopped being smart, because Sony withdrew support for i-players for BBC, ITV, etc. Not good enough Sony. Would have bought another TV brand had I'd known Sony would do this. But the Google Chromecast solves this problem. The Chromecast appears to just be a simple Dongle Device you plug into a TV's HDMI socket. You can then use a smart phone, PC, tablet, etc to 'cast' what you see onto the TV screen. Job done.

    Does what it says on the tin.......I think!

    It's OK in that you can watch any prerecorded films, iplayer, youtube etc, but doesn't stream current programmes. May be due to our ultra slow wi-fi (1-2Mb/sec) or our ignorance! Due to the wi-fi we've had instances of pausing/freezing reloading. The product is good, though due to age and limited tech know how wasn't as easy to set up as hoped. We tend to use the supplied remote which works OK. Purchased in lieu of a TV aerial.
