    Good for most items

    I purchased the General Tools 505 engraver along with the Chicago Electric engraver. I read some reveiews that said that the motor wasn't powerful enough but I found that if you let the diamond bit do the work it engraves most metals just fine. It is much more ergonomic than the Dremel. It fits in your hand like a pencil and is very light in weight. I have used it to engrave small stainless steel firearms parts as well as an assortment of hand tools. I would recommend this tool for entry level engraving.

    Good for plastic

    Received the first one and it didn't work. Received another one from supplier with no questions asked, great!! Not very powerful. Works good on plastic or aluminum but not on the tools like I wanted it for.

    Quality of product seems good.

    I can not comment specifically about this product because I have not used it enough. It is better quality than the last one I bought in a department store. I think it will be fine for my purposes.
