Versions of Movies and DVD Program Issues
The two versions of the movies are fine. The "original" is not what I was expecting. The movie I saw in the theaters back in the day had an ending with the Kurtz encampment being blown up after Willard calls in the airstrike with the Doors "This is the End" playing in the background while the credits roll. What I found on the internet is there were several versions of the "original" The one on the DVD is the original 70mm release with no bombing of the encampment, no end credits, and no music. Just fades to black. So it is what it is. The Redux also has no bombing at the end and also fades to black but that is the way it came out.
Most bluray discs I've bought are programmed so the bluray player remembers where the movie left off and when you restart the player it comes back to the same place. Not these discs. If you stop the movie and turn off the bluray player, when you restart the bluray player you have to search the chapters and select the scene where you left off and then fast forward to the exact spot. Not as convenient.
