Synopsis
A masterpiece ahead of its time, a prescient rendering of a dark future, and the inspiration for the blockbuster film Blade Runner By 2021, the World War has killed millions, driving entire species into extinction and sending mankind off-planet. Those who remain covet any living creature, and for people who can't afford one, companies built incredibly realistic simulacra: horses, birds, cats, sheep. They've even built humans. Immigrants to Mars receive androids so sophisticated they are indistinguishable from true men or women. Fearful of the havoc these artificial humans can wreak, the government bans them from Earth. Driven into hiding, unauthorized androids live among human beings, undetected. Rick Deckard, an officially sanctioned bounty hunter, is commissioned to find rogue androids and "retire" them. But when cornered, androids fight back--with lethal force. Praise for Philip K. Sold at a decent price, packed well, shipped promptly, and once it arrived I noticed it is in better condition than was listed, which was a pleasant surprise. Looks quite presentable, with only a few signs of wear. I appreciate the seller's thoroughness, honesty, speed, and good pricing! It would have been nice if the listing had photos of the actual item (instead of stock photos), but no problem when the item is in better condition than the description.

Book was far more worn than I expected, but still fairly priced. Should have been listed as acceptable rather than good.

    Still hav not.finished...

A year in, and I'm still trying to finish this novel, mostly out of guilt. It was recommended to me by a trusted source, otherwise I have never personally been drawn to the flat writing style of P.K.Dick. Not recommended for those new to his writing or sci-fi in general.

  • Book had writing in it but this was expected and described. Just don’t anticipate a perfect book.

  • Not "like new"

It was shipped securely but it should not have been marked "like new" if there is highlighting and writing in it...would have just bought a new one if i knew so i could have been able to gift it like I wanted
