    Edimax EW-7822ULC

    We have install these in our MacBook Pro 2012 - 13” inc. maximum speed we are getting 290 Mbps Up / Down. It was advertised as 877Mbps on 5Ghz channel. It’s not doing nearly its job. I am an WiFi network designer. I provide high end Cisco WiFi solutions to our clients. I bought the se wifi adapters to show the clients maximum speed they can get but completely wast of money and time. My MacBook inbuilt WiFi n stands is faster than these rubbish.     High hopes

    Bought this for 2008 Mac desktop and 2012 MacBook Pro hoping to see better and faster WiFi and less drop out...failed on both counts on both machines. You have to be next to the router to get any kind of signal.

    Edimax AC1200

    Just the job! At last I got the speed advertised by my ISP (and sometimes more than advertised). It's the 1200 bit that did it. And it doesn't stick out far from my laptop (so, hopefully, it won't break).
