Andy Griffith portrays Ben Matlock, a well-to-do, Harvard-educated Atlanta defense attorney who combines the deductive skills of a legal shark with his brand of folksy, down-home southern charm. Matlock works for individuals unjustly accused of criminal activity, and attempts to prove their innocence in court - which he often does via astonishing last minute evidence inducted into the proceedings. Included in this special box set are all 195 episodes from the 9 seasons of MATLOCK.

    Excellent!

    This series still stands up over twenty years later as one of the best tv has ever offered. Andy Griffiths is an icon of course, and another twenty years or more from now, he will still be remembered and have a new fan base with this series. It's good clean entertainment, more of which we need, especially today. The discs are beautifully remastered and presented...........oh, and highly addictive! I was so sad when the last disc was over, but I will be running through them all again and again and again.

    Show is great, DVDs are not

    The show is five stars, the DVDs are one star. It's as if someone took a VHS to DVD converter to make the DVDs. The video and audio on some episodes is pretty bad. It's watchable but really low quality. The show itself is wonderful (at least what I've watched of season one).

    The the show is great the discs are okay.

    It's a great show. Overall, this product is good... two things though. 1. Some of the episodes look like they were recorded off a VHS. Classic analog discolor and distortion on a few of the episodes on the top of the screen. OR it's whats left of the original film. 2. The case is designed to fit as many discs in a small space as possible. Not bad except a pain to get them out and the inside of the case falls apart... Still worth the purchase.

    Andy Griffith is a winner!

    Always liked this series and Andy Griffith is terrific in it. Like most mysteries so this was an excellent bargain. In the later shows Don Knotts joined him! Griffith has an easy going personality that fits the Southern attorney.

    Great show and quality dvds!

    DVDs packaged securely and of good quality. Anyone who likes Andy Griffith will enjoy this show. At the beginning of each show, just enough is shown about the crime without showing the gross details of the violence like so many shows today. And the good guy always wins through creative problem solving. The clothes and hair-especially the women’s-is so funny-it’s hard to believe we wore big hair and shoulder pads back then! I do recommend these dvds-they securely attach to hard plastic “pages” inside hard plastic boxes so store well protected. I’ve watched all dvds-they all play well. Worth the money for hours (and hours!) of entertainment! Refreshing!!
