    Foxfire Series #6

I have been collecting the Foxfire Book series for several years and each one is compelling in its own right. However, having the entire collection up to this point, (12 Volumes) gives an entire new meaning to knowing about "Just Plain Living", and how to survive with very little. What started out as a class assignment in an Appalachia high school has become a valuable lesson in life itself. I would recommend this series highly to researchers, history buffs, teachers, and survivalists alike.

  • Old Timers

I grew up in a small town in Michigan's Upper Peninsula surrounded by the forest. I remember a lot of the old timers, a bunch of characters for sure! I do consulting work at times and also work with some Amish friends as they take me back to my younger years in how they do things! I am purchasing most of the Foxfire books for their use. It is always interesting to see how the old timers did things with so little. The Amish are much the same. Many of the Amish lead an idealic lifestyle, but not all. Some have the freedom from the bondage of religion and others are in bondage to it. Freedom is knowing Christ as your Savior, very simplistic and thruthfully. They best describe how, why and what the principles were that our country was founded upon. That comes out in the Foxfire series of ...

  • Don't get above your raising!

I'm from the coalfields of southwest Va. and growing up in the 50s & 60s was lucky enough to have experienced most of things covered by the foxfire books but being young and impatient was more than glad too forget that way of life and head for the big city. Now I'm getting the books, trying to put my memories and their instructions together and teach my grand-children some of the basics of country living. The books have a treasury of info that anyone with enough dirt to put in a small garden or build a chicken or rabbit pen should read and put too use.

  • great value

Great information that our younger generation need to know. Brings back memories of my child hood growing up in the 40s. I now have 6 books.
