We just built a new house and started having some mold issues in the finished basement towards the end of the build. The last part of the build really seals up the house and at the same time you're putting a ton of moisture into the air from finishing all the drywall, tile work, painting, etc... it's all being released into the house at once and the air conditioner wasn't install yet which would have helped remove all the excess moisture. We installed this dehumidifier in the basement, ran the drain line to the sump pump crock and just let it run! It took a few days to see a difference but once it got the moister down it make a huge difference! No more mold anywhere. We been using it for 4 months now with it set on the auto function so it just turns on when the moisture gets high, automatically pumps the water to the crock and turns off when the moisture is low. Have a 70 pint Danby without pump using gravity drain to outside. New pump better because has pump and don'y have to elevate old unit to get drain to work. Love it. Impressed with reliability of old gravity drain unit. Unit is 3 years old. Works well. Would recommend product.
