It is life sized and easy to move around the garden. I have stuck it on a pole and the head moves well in a reasonable breeze. It is also quite fun and makes me smile!

Fun decorative Owl not to be taken too seriously.
I bought this Owl with the hope it would deter Rats coming into my garden from my next door neighbours garden, who constantly feeds birds 265 days a year. The Birds still come to her bird feeder, and the Rats continue to feed underneath the feeder, no surprises there! It wasn't expensive to purchase, it's well made plastic, and my Granddaughter loves it, always asking to see it on her way home from playgroup. I clearly had to take other measures for the Rats, such as the local authority, snap traps, Rat Poison. The head of this decoy Owl moves with the wind, and I suppose for a short time is realistic to a Bird or Animal. It won't have the affect of a real Bird of prey for instance perched in the garden, but it is a fun object, that looks decorative on a fence. Pigeons are taken in more ... Good idea in theory, but in practice it just doesn't work.
Initially this might seem like a good idea - having an owl placed in the garden to scare away other birds. But in practice it's useless, as evidenced by pigeons building a nest directly above where the owl was placed.

Bird scarer.
Placed the owl on my roof and since then have had no problems with pigeons, crows and even seagulls keep away. Now get to see all the small birds back in my garden. Best purchase ever.

Pigeons carer that works.
I haven't had a pigeon in the farden since installing the owl. Amazing as I had loads of them, and their droppings, every day. It's only plastic and I don't understand the fixings as there are no instructions. But I have stuck it on a broom handle and move it around so that might be better. Head moves when windy so it's realistic. I am delighted.
