  • Principles of Biostatistics by Gauvreau, Pagano (2000)

This book was required for our grad school biostats class. The authors do a great job of laddering the skills needed for advanced statistics. It's easy to follow with examples throughout the chapters and practice problems at the end of each chapter. Each chapter builds on previous chapters. If you can get the companion manual to go along with this book (it contains a lot of extra problems and solutions) you will be set!

  • biostat

very helpful and liked the format. many examples to learn from. authors did a great job in writing this book.

  • Statistics is dry - but this book is worse...

My professors don't even like this book & they picked it out. Horrible explanations, confusing examples, no answer key in the back (not even for a few problems). If you are told to buy this book- ask your professors if they are really sure they want you too. Not only that I had to spend over 90 bucks on it!

  • NO BOOK!!!

I DID NOT RECEIVE A BOOK!!! I am more than a month into the semester (have waited for a book almost 2 months now), and I keep attending the library because I cannot afford buying another book. WHO DO I TALK TO???? Please contact me at oksana-zagorodna@uiowa.edu.

  • it's too expensive for its own good

I purchased almost new and I thought it was new. The book itself is not really helping that much when it comes to explaining the material but you will need it in class because of homework
