I bought the LG LX160 mobile telephone as a possible replacement for my Sanyo SCP-4700, mostly to get a mobile telephone capable of sending text messages. I decided to continue using the Sanyo SCP-4700 for three reasons: (1) Regardless of which ringtone I select on the LG LX160, I can't find one loud enough to be certain I'll hear the phone ring. (2) The speakerphone's sound quality is poor; although it is loud and understandable, the sound quality is annoying enough I prefer to use my Sanyo SCP-4700. (3) The battery life is short compared to my Sanyo SCP-4700, about 4 days versus 7. Good points: The LG LX160 has a separate speakerphone key you can use to initiate the call (as does the Sanyo SCP-4700); some mobile telephones do not. The LG LX160 is capable of sending a text message; my Sanyo SCP-4700 cannot. The LG LX160 is a handy size flip style telephone that can easily fit in a pocket. Testing the LG LX160 by calling Sprint's 611 customer service number (611 & 911 being the only numbers I can call without activating the phone with Sprint) I found the LG LX160 has good reception where some mobile telephones (such as my former Samsung SCH-1000) do not. The inner and outer screens are bright and easy to understand. The menus are basically intuitive: Most users of the LG LX160 will not need a user's manual.Read full review
The LG LX160 cell phone I purchased off of eBay is a nice, standard cell phone without all of the bells and whistles that most cell phones come equipped with these days. It is a flip phone with a color display and exterior color caller ID screen. No camera, no internet access, just used for phone calls and some text messages. This phone was purchased for my 12 year old son. His mother and i like for him to be able to call us and check in while out playing with his friends plus it's a way for us as parents to be able to call him at any time and find out where he is or to advise him to come home. For these purposes this phone made a great fit plus the price of the phone was very reasonable for a brand new phone never out of the box compared to what an actual Sprint store would have charged us.Read full review
The screen is a bit small, but the phone works just fine. It has good clarity and easy to use. The Bluetooth and all other features worked without any problems. I bought the phone for the price. This is a great buy if you do not need a camera in your phone.
I bought this phone because I needed a cheap replacement for my broken Rant phone. Its a nice basic phone, it doesn't take pictures, surf the web or any of that other stuff but it rings when I get a call. It can do texting which is nice and its "bells and whistle" free. I'd never buy this at retail value because it was close to $50. Clearly someone needs to redo their inventory and see how far technology has come since 2001-2003.
This is a great phone because it is slim and sleek. It has just enough features for what I need, but not too many to make it complicated (such as camera). The product was used and had a very slight scratch on the top, but because of the low price, I was happy to have it as my other one had broken. I think this model has a weak point in that the attachment for the charger is easily broken, which is what happened to my first one. I am trying to be careful with this one.
