problem solved
I can't offer an excuse or even an explanation for not changing the plugs in my Aprilia RSV 1000R since 2005, but that was what I did (or failed to do) Eventually, the poor old girl started firing on one cylinder, so I was forced to check the plugs. Typical Italian design, this involved removing the fuel tank and airbox etc. But once done, what a difference !
