I bought this 35mm vintage camera because it is synced for strobe at 1/125 second. Most cameras have only 1/60 sec. Which means it eliminates shadows under the eyes when taking outdoor photos. This means Crystal clear photos when lighting is not at its best. The disadvantage, it needs batteries to operate the shutter. Also there is no cord sync adapter, ie.(the flash) is cordless and works off a hot shoe only. I really like cameras that uses both. I was disappointed when I saw this model only uses a hot shoe only.
I have always wanted a better SLR. Well,by the time I could afford one, digital came in. Film SLRs like the Ricoh are fun and challenging. It is an excellent camera, and what I got was exactly what the seller advertised. I just finished the first roll - all done by me; no self focus, electric eye, plastic irs and lens. Nope. Hefty steel and a beautiful lens; and I control all of it. Unfortunately, it was a sadder time as we had a death in the family, but I believe these pictures will have more character and personality then the digitals my daughter was taking. We'll see, but it was more fun, had to think before I shot. I am very proud of it.
I knew the price of this camera was only 20 dollars but it sounded good in the despription. Well what a worn out piece of junk! It had numbers scratched into the side because it was a school camera used by countless people. The lens was the only good part.
