My daughter loves it. But likes to take on water after each run, we are dumping out a fair amount of water. Definitely get a splash guard for this boat. Definitely run higher C rating lipo batteries than what Traxxas recommends. This boat is easy to flip.

I've been waiting for two days now for the water to be calm enough to take this baby out for a shake down. Late this afternoon I got my chance and OMG you absolutely want to get to know how she handles before you get carried away with the throttle. I was only running 3S 25C Lipo's today and it was screaming fast. As a former RC pylon racer I'm very familiar with "fast", I just never thought I'd see it on the water. I already know my flying skills are going to come in handy when I've got the boat tuned and stick a couple of 6S 50C (100C burst) batteries in there. Great boat, great deal, and I highly recommend to anyone serious about having one of the best and fastest RC boats out there.

Spartans are amazing boats. Expensive, yes, but on 6S lipos they'll beat just about anything but the fastest nitrous which run $1000 and are a pain to start and run. I've had my Spartan for 4 years and did have to replace the batteries (puffed) and motor after 3. Still, arriving at the huge pond the RC guys go to, tossing it in and punching it is the best. Shop around and DEFINITELY go for two 3S lipo batteries. Remember to lube flex driveshaft after every outing.
