A few months ago I purchased several Callaway Heavenwoods including the 2h, 3h, 4h and 5h. I am an average 52 year old man who plays every weekend, never practices, doesn't warm-up at the range and still managed to score in the mid-80's. NOT ANYMORE!!! These unbelievably easy to hit clubs are the most incredible sticks that I've ever wrapped my hands around in my life! These clubs are designed to replace the difficult to hit longer irons in your bag. I now am able to hit shots from 165-215 yds. with the accuracy of a gap-wedge! My enjoyment of the game; which was already off the charts, now is better than I ever dreamed it could ever be. My handicap has dropped from a 12 down to a 5! All the guys that I play with have added these clubs to their bag! Give these sticks a try; they're simply the greatest clubs you'll ever hit!Read full review
First looks, the Heavenwood head looks small and hard to hit. I tried one when they came out a few years ago with a stiff shaft and I did not like it. This time I choose a regular flex shaft. Looks can be deceiving. I played it today, and was surprised. The first shot off the tee went straight and safe. The next shot was a fairway shot on a par 5. Straight and safe, in the fairway. More shots provided predictable results. Then the last shot was a towering shot over trees on a dog leg right. It was ever bit as long as my 3 wood which the heavenwood is well on its way to replacing. To summarize, the heavenwood is easy to hit, predictable and long. The small hybrid head may not be for everyone, but I like it.
I recently bought a used Callaway 5H Heavenwood hybrid club with graphite shaft. I aleady had a 3H Heavenwood & thought a 5H would be a good addition since I'm not a fan of hitting any irons longer than a 6 iron. The thing I like about this hybrid is that I believe the ball goes higher and a bit farther than with a 5 iron so its good for shots over water and other hazards. The thing I don't like is the longer shaft compared to the 5 iron, which I think makes it a little trickier getting the club released and squared up at impact. And it's not as accurate as a reasonably hit 5 iron shot. As with most Callaway equipment, the quality of the club is very good and it makes a pleasing metal wood "ping" sound when you hit it well. My recommendation is if you really have a hard time hitting a 4 or 5 iron, this is a good club for you. But if you can hit those irons reasonably well, leave them in your bag and look for a 4H or 3H Heavenwood to replace your 3 iron.Read full review
These hybris are the best clubs I ever had. after buying them, I was able to make better longer and straight shots, which enable me to remove my #3 and #5 metal woods from my bag. Although these clubs are not the latest technology, they are forgiving, easy to hit and with great performance. I have recommended them to my best friend since he was having trouble with his fairway woods. He was able to hit mine longer, straigter and with better resukts and score. At the end, he also found the #3, #4 and #5 used from Ebay. The only thing I regred is the fact that eventually, these clubs will not longer be found in the market.
I purchased the Callaway 2H through EBay at an excellent price. Well over 50% below retail. The club had been only used as a demo and had almost no noticeable wear. I knew this was an outstanding value because I had purchased a 1H through a retail chain for full cost. The EBay purchase was awesome. As for the Heavenwoods, they are great clubs. I have replaced my fairway woods with a 1H and 2H. They provide me with the same distance with better control. The ball flight is slightly lower than a fairway wood which helps when hitting into the wind. The 1H is an excellent club to hit off the tee when fairways are very narrow. You get a lot of roll after carry. Great clubs. Great deals on EBay if you do your homework.
I'm a low handicap player who does not carry any fairway woods except for this one. I consistently put it 250-260 off the tee very straight. Distance drops about 15-20 yards off the fairway, and again straight. It takes off like a rocket and you can work it either way. Great club. For more control just grip down. Bottom line is when I am erratic with the driver I pop this out and par 5's are reachable in two still. This is a ridiulous club which knocks strokes off your rounds. My guess is its good for about 5-6 shots a round as it eliminates the errant shots I'm susceptible since I am long. Love this club. Swing easy and it makes the course simple
Being a reseller of golf clubs, I've had occassion to try most of the older AND latest clubs which is interesting. Most of the time I can tell very little difference between numerous models and brands, except with irons. But as far as hybrids go, there are differences in appearance, lie angle, weight and shafts. My personal favorite is the Hogan CFT, but the Callaway Heavenwood runs a very close second. I love the way it sets up and it's balance. I also like the way the ball comes off the club and the feedback I get when the club strikes the ball - VERY SOLID.
I am a newbie to the world of golf. I started playing 03/07, and love the game, but leave much to be desired in skill. The feel of the club is fantastic. It is light, easy to swing, hard to find fault. I bought mine used, at a fantastic price, just to try it. Wouldn't trade it for twice the money I spent. My bag is a hodgepodge of clubs, some of the women's starter set purchased new, a Titleist hybrid, and the heavenwood. If I were going to play a "4 Clubs & A Putter" challenge, I would carry: putter, heavenwood, Titleist hybrid, 7I, and wedge. Looking to buy more of the same line.
A good fairway wood is probably the most important golf club that one can ever own. By that token, the Callaway Big Bertha Heavenwood becomes a critical piece of your golf equipment set. Useful for strong driving on the fairway or getting out of roughs, this well balanced golf club with a low center of gravity will add sharpness to your swing and accuracy to your shots. The Callaway Big Bertha Heavenwood gives you good loft and can replace the longer irons as well as the wedges in your kit. A fairway wood that sounds like an all-in-one club? Well, the Callaway Big Bertha Heavenwood certainly comes close.
I can hit long irons, including my 1 iron. Why would I even consider buying a hybrid? Mostly out of curiousity. I've since sold my 1 iron. Believe the hype, these clubs are just easy to hit. There's also been numerous articles in golf magazines about the different types of shots you can hit with these. Off the tee, from the rough, from the fringe, and even lag puts have been hit with these guys. I especially like this club from weird lies. This is now my go-to club.
