Cricket, Crumpet & Crikey!
An outstandingly good yarn, - and Midsomer fans will love the village cricket match with a reluctant Barnaby umpiring! The story stretches the Midsomer canon a bit, with Joyce suddenly discovering her hubby had worked for MI6, and that 'M' is a local villager..but i quibble. It's a great story with plot origins stemming from the final days of the cold war. Be aware before you share this one with the parson.....there's some fairly steamy sex and and occasional salty language in this one. None of it gratuitous - but i'd have felt uncomfortable with the under-twelves watching it with me. Oh and unusually Barnaby seems intent on making Jones' life difficult in this episode - for reasons never answered.......maybe in a future story? It is a relaxing episode of Midsomer Murders, it is not too difficult to get involved, just like the others so if you like detective series then this is a must to watch.

Secrets and Spies
Barnaby branching out, a different side to Baranaby in this Midsomer, not fully in charge and being pushed around, almost the last as he resigns. Taking up cricket lightens his day. Nice to see a different tack on the stories, keep watching.
