This is a perfect replacement for the old mercury batteries as it is the same size and voltage the modern equivalent has a slightly higher voltage so you have to allow for this when reading your meter I have never used this type of battery before it relies on air to activate I contacted the supplier and he gave me some very useful information regarding getting the best from this battery

Camley-Photographic are selling these Wein PX625 batteries, made in the USA, to go with vintage cameras and are the correct voltage of 1.35v Beware of other branded PX625's for use in cameras. Most of them are 1.5v and will affect the accuracy of the exposure meter - worth paying the extra price !

A perfect alternative

A great find.
I am so glad to have found this item as I have a number of cameras from the 1970s to the 1980s which required a mercury battery ( now universally banned) to work the meter/shutter . This battery delivers the same 1.35 volts that the mercury battery did . So ! I can once again use my beloved older film cameras. Fantastic.

Excellent value 1.35v Mercury cell alternative for classic SLRs
An excellent product for users of classic SLR cameras such as Olympus OM1, Minolta SRT, Pentax Spotmatic, Canon FTn etc that used to require a 1.35v Mercury battery that are no longer available. The Weincell is a murcury free replacement and produces the same 1.35v.
