      Speedy Sharp useful but with limitations

      I would NOT recommend this product for maintenance of valuable blades. However, it does remove an impressive amount of material. Thus far it has worked well on hatchets, machetes, lawnmower blades and a host of other edged tools which do not require precision. Additionally, the Speedy Sharp is probably the best ferro rod striker I have ever used, even on cheap import rods with sub par compositions. I have even experimented with fabricating improvised cutting tools with found metals and the Speedy Sharp makes speedy work of creating a usable edge. Again, I would not put it to work on a blade I really on on a daily basis unless left with no other option but it has proven itself a useful tool nonetheless.

      Great easy to use blade sharpener

      I love how easy the speedy sharp sharper can sharpen any blade easily with a hard carbide tipped edge and I’m happy that it works on my expensive ZT knives and my Benchmade top shelf fancy pocket knifes too. Thank you

      easy sharp.

      This a 10$$ sharpener!! As such, I feel little can be expected. I immediately used it to touch up a dozen very hard stainless steel knives. It will put an edge on stainless. After some use you can start to see the carbide(?) edge beginning to wear some...simply compare it to the other, unused edge. But for less than 10$$ not to much can be expected. It is very small and will be easy to lose in a hunting or fishing situation. I hope it lasts a while because it is compact and easy and cheap to replace if desired:)

      Putting a smile on a friends face

      I was tired of using my hunting buddies dull knives at his farm. His hunting knives are always sharp but his kitchen knives were a mess. We spent a little time over the weekend sharpening every one he had. He loves it.

      Great but take care.

      Be careful using it as a sharpener for knives, it's easy to scratch the blade etc. Great for garden tools. It's the best ferro rod scrapper I've ever used.
