  • Rivers, Tides, Snow, Ice, leaves, twigs, water, earth, driftwood. Brilliant

Excellent dvd. An art work in its own right. Beautifully filmed and gives an insight into how Andy Goldsworthy constructs his natural sculptures, how long it takes and his infinite patience when it goes wrong. This dvd will make you look at the natural world in a different way. If you find yourself compelled to layer leaves, stack stones or tessellate twigs whilst out for a country walk then you can blame this dvd! The photo books of Andy Goldsworthy's works are great but give a static view of the works. This dvd gives the back story and you can see the works in the environment with the light, atmospheric and weather conditions changing around it. Well worth the money, around £7 including postage, for a great dvd. Highly recommended.

  • A "must-have" for everybody interested in Art & Nature!

Andy Goldsworthy is a well known land art sculptor and Rivers And Tides is by far the best snapshot of Andy Goldsworthy's work. Nature and Time appear in a completely different light and it is extremely fascinating to let Andy Goldsworthy take us on a meditative journey into his way of thinking and understanding. This DVD is highly recommended for everybody who likes Nature and/or Arts.

  • Great video about an extraordinary man

If you don't know much about what Andy Goldsworthy does for a living, this DVD will be a real eye-opener. Working entirely with objects provided by nature, he creates the most ingenious and often delicate sculptures and constructions. In one scene he's using a penknife but mostly he does everything with his bare hands. Some of his work is designed to be seen briefly before it's washed away by the tide or blown away by the wind, while other pieces will be part of the landscape for hundreds of years. Beautifully filmed and edited, this is a real work of art in itself and will stand watching many times over. An inspiration for anyone who's ever felt the urge to go and make something.
