I contacted seller, at his direction i opened and inspected the unit to find faulty solder joints at the connection points where the IR board connects to the main circuit board. at sellers direction i attempted to reflow these connections to no avail. Upon closer inspection I found several of the resistors in question as well as 1 capacitor were in fact damaged during assembly. seller not responding.
