    Effective for grubbing out roots in the garden.

    I bought this to dig out deep roots of bushes and small trees in a "mature" garden. The long, narrow curved blade is very effective at breaking up and removing compacted soil, and cutting through thinner roots. The long reach shaft gives great leverage. It's immensely strong, and doesn't bend like wooden ones. The only down-side is that this is a heavy tool.

    Built like a bulldog

    This shovel is a hefty piece of kit. The blade slices through turf with a minimal effort, with the foot pegs allowing extra force to be applied when required. I have run three french drains with this since purchase and cannot fault it on performance. It is fairly heavy, but needs to be and this is a reassurance of its potential longevity in service. I am completely satisfied.

    Buy British buy Bulldog.

    I have always used Bulldog, whenever I can, all my life so it goes without saying it’s a quality product. Hopefully it’s still made in Britain and is still a British company. From past experience I would always recommend Bulldog.
