I have started w/4* bcuz I haven't been able 2 make any of the recipes yet. Bcuz of a delay in my I/C freezing Machine my books arrived B4 my machine. However, after reading through the book, I felt like it deserved at minimum 4*s 4 all of the information U get in this book. It starts out by giving a brief (6 very sm chapters) history of ice cream. Personally, I'm not a historical type, but bcuz it was so short I read it, & found it interesting. Almost wished that there was more however, it then goes in2 the components that make up the ice cream & the roll each one takes. I am not sure of what other people's expectations are when it comes to making their own ice cream @ home. I just know that I want 2B able 2 make the type of ice cream my family & friends crave. & unless I give them my ... I have started w/4* bcuz I haven't been able 2 make any of the recipes yet. So 4 me I was fascinated with the information I learned from that. After the information on each of the ingredient's it goes in2 the Freezing Process. Covering both method's, hand & electric cranked with ice & rock salt. Or the pre frozen bowl electric type's. Followed by serving temp & effects it has & proper storing. After, they have a section entitled, My Ice cream flopped! What went wrong? Where it gives possible reason's that might have taken place, 4 possible area's that have gone wrong I assume, 4 some. 1 example was, came out icy or course. 1 of the possibilities listed, Not enough cream was used (too low a milk-fat content). Again 4 me, useful information. Between the contents, introduction, & the information I told you about, it only took up 9 pages. The recipes start on page 10 & go thru page 31. Which includes different types of toppings 4 yr old fashion ice cream. Getting excited about making my first 1/2 gal as soon as my machine arrives, so I can update my *status.
