Folk meets Jazz and World Music, this production is a combination of three outstanding musicians coming together to make this CD. With impressive creativity, Bob uses resourceful and innovative stylings on acoustic and electric guitar and mandolin and performs a wide blend of original music. Entertainment newspaper Variety says of his performances, "His work on six-string acoustic guitar stands out in jazz instrumentals and seems unhampered by delivering solo stylings usually associated with combos." Jazz guitarist Randy Roos and percussionist Jerry Leake fill out this perceptive project whose sounds reflect the visual images of Bob's compositions and paintings. The CD includes collaborations by Bob and Randy Roos, Ray Karle, and Jennifer Sherrill. Randy Roos, guitarist, producer and Associate Professor, Berklee College of Music says of 'Where I Live'........ 'I had the pleasure of working with Bob on his new CD, Where I Live, and I came to appreciate just how wonderful Bob's relationship with his music really is. His performances would go down effortlessly, and where multiple takes were recorded, it was not for the sake of getting a 'good' take - that was not an issue. Rather, it was so that Bob could experiment with different approaches to a song, casting light in different directions, guitaristically and vocally. With each new song (and take) there would be surprises (sometimes forcing me to laugh out loud), and never repetition of things rehearsed. This is what happens when an artist is fully in control of his music, and has the intimate relationship with these songs that allows him to shed new light on them.
