    More than just a spade

    aside from the obvious purpose of digging holes or trenches I discovered this is very good for digging roots out. Because it's so rigid and has a sharp edge to the blade you can strike a root with it and gain purchase on the root then use the rigidity of the tool to lever the root out. Basically, for the money, just get one!

    Quality could be better

    It worked well until the rivet that holds the handle onto the spade started to become loose. I was able to hammer the rivet in to complete the job but I would not recommend this product for a big project.
