Martin strings stay bright for a long time and they stay usable on your guitar for even longer. Of course, all strings sound fresh and resonant for a limited amount of time and then aquire a more subdued timbre, which some guitarists actually prefer because it's more balanced and less "jangly". For me, Martin gives you the best of both worlds and if you're on a budget you won't need to replace them for a long time. They don't break too easy, either. I've used strings that are three times the price, due to "nanowebbing", but found that, while they sound brighter for a bit longer, they were a false economy because they broke a lot more frequently. Great tone
My go-to strings for acoustic. Great sparkle, body, energy and depth. Breathes new life into the guitar with each new change. But they also last well and are consistent too. But as ever, try a few strings and see which ones work best for you. For me these are the best mix of tone, longevity and price.

After years with Martin M175 needed extra tone for a Yamaha FGX720SCA. M100 are the answer. Tried most brands at most prices,Why pay more for less.

Clear bright and clean to the touch.
I haven't enjoyed Martin strings before - too thin and brassy. I tried these because I wanted a bit more strumming and less fingerpicking on my Washburn guitar. It's done the trick. A month on and the strings are still clear, bright and free from corrosion.
