Takes time for them to settle in...
When I first put these strings on I hated them, they sounded tinny to me and I would have replaced them if I had another set. But, after a couple of weeks they have settled down and actually sound pretty good, so I'm glad I persevered. Strings are so subjective that the only way to know for sure is to test them yourself. I don't claim to understand why some strings are good from the start and others take time, but it does seem to be the case. Not sure how this would work if you were a performer, as you'd want them to be perfect from the start. Starting over
I have a friend getting back into playing and using the fingers for fingerpicking on a second guitar. These strings play as if they were a gauge lighter without the loss of volume and tone and therefore excellent for stiffer fingers.

Thought I would give these strings a try seeing as they are endorsed by Tommy, great tone and still have the bend /flex when needed even at the 12 gauge. After many years gigging with Elixar it's nice to have a 'real' string under the fingers again.
