Ok price for this open box item.
Android 9. Did automatic April 2020 security update. Speakers are louder than most. If you use VLC then videos can be very loud using the equalizer to boost. Everything seems to function fine. I was really shocked to see "Kids Edition" pop up on the Samsung power on startup graphics! No mention of kids edition in the description on website. HOWEVER, the "About" tablet specs show the EXACT SAME specs for this tablet - it seems to simply mean this originally included a foam case & a built-in parental protection app. Should have ordered this sooner, as this batch clearly was described as lacking the 32Gb external card that was included originally in these tabs, but was priced the same. :( Fortunately this has 32Gb internal and is more than I need. So far, so good. Hope it lasts as long as my ACER 840 refurb tablet - 5 years, but it's android 4.4 was not supporting all the features in newer apps.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Could be better for the price
Tablet I recieved has the screen popping out of the device, touch screen doesnt work well, have to tap 100 times before it does anything. Very slow. Wish I would have spent extra $30 to buy brand new locally. Over all, product works but not great. Not worth it to spend money to return or exchange the tablet.

Lightweight, compact, and a very long battery life
This was a replacement for an older Samsung tablet. While some of the features are not quite as good as in the older version, like access to email programs other than gmail, this one performs exactly like I had hoped. Great for kids
I got this for my 9 year old, it works great for whatever games that she likes to play or videos that she watches. Great refurbished tablet.
I’m pleased with my new refurbished Samsung Tab A 8” SM-T290. After 3 huge updates that took around 2 hours to complete, I wasn’t sure if I would keep it. So, I tested everything I would use it for. I’m very happy with it. It plays games like Township (at high level: 88) and Pokémon TGCO for hours without getting warm or hot. The video is great considering its inherent technical limitations (obviously, it’s not 4K). The screen is crisp. I watched live YouTube videos of my favorite band and am very happy with the audio quality from the dual speakers. When reading, light reading just a couple hours a day, the battery lasted over two days. (My Kindle Fire 8th Gen. needed to be charged every night, whether I used it or not.) Samsung makes quality devices and this one is, as well. I’m happy to have found a great deal on this Tab A SM-T290.

A fine little 8" tablet.
I mostly bought this tablet as a convenient, energy efficient controller for my telescopes and cameras for guiding and astrophotography. I haven't yet had a chance to use it under the stars but I have connected it via wifi to the scopes and cameras and it does great.
