Monster Rancher Battle Card: Episode II is set in the Monster Rancher universe, but instead of raising and battling monsters, players collect cards from around the game world and use them to build decks. The primary goal is to find a complete set of Monster Rancher cards to help your friend, who's been spirited away to Monster Paradise with her own complete set. You do this by scouring the countryside, locating hidden cards, buying them, or winning them in competitions against other highly skilled opponents.<br><br>Each deck is focused around three different monsters, with the rest of the cards modifying the attack or defend power that those monsters possess. The monsters themselves are powered by GUTS points, which can be obtained by discarding items in your hand. Different decks can be constructed, and you can pick and choose what you think will be the best deck for a given battle.<br><br>Like other Monster Rancher games, a variety of compact discs can be used to create items. In this case, CDs create cards rather than monsters. Each CD can only be used once but it is possible to receive some extremely powerful cards using certain CDs. These cards can be put into your game decks immediately and can also be used in the two-player mode, where human opponents can take on each other with the decks they have created in the game.

    exciting for a 43 year old lol however my grandchild loves it too and she is 17. Games are their life.... fun fun fun fun... have I said fun enough. lol lol this isn't letting me submit.... well what else can I say. this is not necessary .. more in life than telling community of a monster rancher game. now have I wrote enough.... ha ha ha lol lol oh my golly why isn't this getting submitted. this is boring..

    Review of Monster Rancher Battle Card: Episode II

    Monster Rancher Battle Card: Episode II was a fun game when I first played it so many years ago. It mixed the fun battles of Monster Rancher, trading card games, and RPG elements. I loved how the characters you faced were straight from Monster Rancher 1 & 2. It was fun to face everyone and to think of different tactics to face the next opponents in the next tournament. When I first found the game on eBay, I HAD to get it for my collection. But due to a previous buy gone awry, it took me months until I found another seller. I'm so glad I got this game. A great reminder of the golden years of Monster Rancher.

    Probably good

    I mean it comes up as an audio disk but it could just be my PlayStation is old and starting to fail. 😢 I don't know I guess I should try some other stuff it's probably my machine though

    Great Card Plays

    Out of all the card games this one is the easiest to understand and the fastest to progress in. Unlike Yugioh or Digimon you can do real strategy in this game and analyze your opponents moves. Though the graphics are more of a cartoon animation the games overall play more then makes up for that.

    Cute game

    I decided to buy this because it create a "JOKER" for Monster Rancher 3. My son has started playing the game, so it served its purpose. This is a cute game for kids, it also makes them think. So if you have Monster Rancher 3, and looking to find a Joker this is how. Also a bonus is Kids like this series of games.
