Synopsis
With all the narrative power and emotional immediacy that have made her novels acclaimed international bestsellers, Anita Shreve unfolds a richly engaging tale of marriage, money, and troubled times-the story of a pair of young newlyweds who, setting out to build a life together in a derelict beach house on the Atlantic coast, soon discover how threatening the world outside their front door can be.

  • An excellent title that creates interest and curiosity.

The book Sea Glass was an interesting book that draws you into the individual lives of characters in realistic situations of the time. I appreciate how the author included so many details that were relevant to the time period. Each character is brought to the reader and introduced seperately. The Great Depression, prohibition, harsh work conditions, and daily life in this time transform and shape these people like worn and smoothed pieces of Sea Glass. If you can share or enjoy reading about experiences and the choices that people are forced to make in difficult times then this may be the book for you.
