Lacks any feeling of previous Terminators.

This movie is not in keeping with the feel of the previous Terminators. It feels like a completely different director and writer produced this film. And, without reading the box, that's most likely the case. This is the type of film anyone could have made. Not a shred of originality to it. Just some tough guys with action and fighting. It still was an OK basic movie to watch. Not worth more than 4 or 5 dollars.

  • If you loved the originals...

Being a huge fan of the original Terminator series, I can see both the positives and the negatives of this movie. First, the bad. In the original series, the Resistance forces had very little in the way of supplies, equipment, and technology. In this movie, however, they have submarines, helicopters, weapons caches and endless ammunition, and all sorts of gadgetry. When you think about it, this is supposed to be a world basically run by computers, with the humans having to scavage for various necessities. Just a small detail that was ultimately sacrificed in order to give movie-goers a flashier movie. Now, the good. The special effects and plot line are just bad-ass. Christian Bale does an excellent job of playing John Conner, and seems perfect for the role. The story generally ...

  • Terminator Salvation - John Connor's story

Christian Bale (Batman Begins and the Dark Knight) stars as John Connor in this fourth installment of the Terminator series. Set in the year 2018, John Connor leads an attack by the Resistance on a Skynet base (Skynet destroyed most of humanity in a nuclear attack. The movie is very involved in the life of the resistance leader and those who choose to follow him. In the film some good alliances are formed and some traitors are discovered. The movie stars: Sam Worthington, Anton Yelchin, Moon Bloodgood, Bryce Dallas Howard, Jadagrace Berry, Michael Ironside and Helena Bonham Carter. Unlike the other Terminator movies this one is rated PG-13 (The others were rated R) there are scenes of Violence, intense action, and some language. In this version of the film you receive the Widescreen ...

  • Terminator Salvation (Blu-ray Disc, 2009, 2-Disc Set, WS; Director's Cut)

Terminator Salvation was exactly what the franchise needed to reinvigorate itself. While not as action packed as its three predecessors, we are finally introduced to John Connor, whose very existence has been the crux of the Terminator dogma. Exploring the initial structure of the human resistance, and its looming possibility of schism, truly gave one a sense of the scattered and desolate nature of humanity. It also showcases a stage in the ever-changing evolution of Skynet and its slow, rumbling path towards human extinction. Skynet isn't everywhere yet and the resistance, while holding out, still lacks the momentum, and personnel, to truly strike any critical blows against its AI antagonist. This sets up a very well-written story and poses the question "What truly makes us human?"

  • Terminator Salvation Blu-Ray

I have to say Terminator is one of my favortie series and not because of Arnold. The story itself references the apocalypse of earth that comes about because humans made machines that began to think by itself and terminated humans to protect its own existence. This 4th movie in the series doesn't include Arnold except for maybe a short scene that is probably comupter animated. It stars mainly Christian Bale of Batman who becomes the grown-up John Conner. In the movie the last humans on earth fight for survival and to protect humanity from extinction. The musical score is ok, the graphics are awsome, storyline is as great as I hoped, acting is good. A solid movie just not a masterpiece.
