  • Covering for Peter

What a mature blues band, but who's that charming old codger in the middle who picks up his harp every so often and stills the crowd and plays ever so tentatively and delicately when he's given the chance? Oh, of course my old guitar hero, Peter Green founding member of early 60s white boy blues meistro's Fleetwood Mac. Peter has not been well, we all know that. someone slipped him some acid at the height of his career and he never quite came back. Grew his fingernails long so he couldn't play guitar anym ore and gave away his royalties. His comeback album In The Skies was extraordinary then he faded for a time until Nigel Watson pulled him back into the limelight. This is Nigel's band playing live. Nigel's a good guitarist but he's not Peter Green. Nigel ...

  • Peter Green Splinter Group - In Concert (DVD, 2003)

This is just a down right fun and enjoyable DVD. Although Peter Green's vocals are not what they used to be you can feel the emotion, passion and joy of every song played. His rough and tonally narrow vocals seem to fit some songs well other not so well. His backing band is very tight and loose all at the same time, that more than makes up for the not so well. Wish it was Blu-ray but video is good for DVD, some graininess, but not distracting from the overall experience. If you like good down home blues mixed with rock and are not familiar with Peter's older work this is an extremely good introduction. "Black Magic Woman" never sounded so good. Treat your self to an exceptionally good DVD that's well recorded, mixed and produced. The only reason I didn't give ...

  • Peter Green & The Splinter Group dvd

I have always liked Peter´s style ever since I heard first time the Fleetwood Mac in the late sixties. The dvd is just relaxing blues music which I love to hear and look.I play also myself guitar and that is one reason why I like the dvd. It´s interesting to me. There is no minus points in the dvd.
