THE BEST BOOK TO START YOUR EDUCATION IN ASL
This book is as good as it gets when it comes to learning ASL. I know two or three people who got their degree in Deaf Studies and this (and the 2nd volume) is the go-to book for ASL. The videos are fantastic.

I would keep this book even after class ends.
This book is amazing for first ASL beginners. CD helps a lot when followed by the book. It has a review section so you can test yourself after you have learned the chapter. I feel like you can learn ASL just with this book alone. As long as you follow the book and practice, beginning ASL would be easy. I have nothing bad to say about this book and would totally recommend this to anyone who has an interest for learning American Sign language.This book is amazing for first ASL beginners. CD helps a lot when followed by the book. It has a review section so you can test yourself after you have learned the chapter. I feel like you can learn ASL just with this book alone.
