    Love these loppers

    I love these loppers. I used them for the first time yesterday and they were really sharp and able to cut through awkward dead branches at the base of my plant that I couldn’t get before. The locking system to adjust the handle was a game changer for me too. My old ones just twisted and would undo on occasion. I haven’t tried thicker or high branches to comment on weight.

    specialized use

    I was not made aware of the fact that you are required to operate the handles multiple times to acheive one cut. This makes it less suitable and laborius for smaller branches. I have reverted to my simple loppers for most of my pruning. They are excellent/essential for the larger branches though.

    Easy to cut thicker stems.

    Ratchet mechanism means you can cut quite thick stems with much less effort than a conventional lopper. The down side is you can't use this for quick slices, such as chopping a smaller branch up to put in your recycling bin. My only reservation is the handles feel light and a little weak. However so far so good.
