  • ZZ Top's First Album of the 80's

I like the way ZZ Top used this album as a stepping stone to reach untapped listeners and keep themselves in the recording business, daring to utilize emerging technology and meld it with their "home on the range" soul-daddy/hellraiser image. This album was different in that Billy Gibbons and company recorded their first ballad. While some people winced when they heard the love ballad "Leila" which, for some reason was the first single thrust upon the FM airwaves, I thought it was not only a good song but also proof that these guys could and WOULD show they could do whatever they took a mind to. The butt-kicking start of "Don't Break my Heart" is ZZ TOP's trademark sound with a fresh twist. The rhyming of the lyrics just kill me - "Don't ...

  • In the fine tradition...

This is ZZ Top's first attempt to get a slicker, more polished sound than their earlier records. Keyboards and synthesized sounds are present, to the dismay of fans of fuzzy guitars, but if your'e a true ZZ Top fan, you must have this and all ZZ Top recordings. This is not my favorite, but "Tube Snake Boogie", "Pearl Necklace", and "Party on the Patio" make this one worth the price of admission.

  • Another benchmark from the amazing Texas trio .

This is the sixth album from ZZ Top and , like the five before it , the music is fresh , funky , and rockin`. Cuts like "Pearl Necklace" and "Tube Snake Boogie" stir your soul , get your feet monvin` and your fingers snappin`. Just one more jewel in the crown of that "Little o`l band from Texas", ZZ TOP !

  • Rockin' CD

This is a great cd. It was about the time they started to go for a radio sound. But, it does not disapoint. It is worth the listen if you have never checked it out.
