Love/hate relationship
Have used at least 5 of these, for countless hours over a number of years. Highly valuable to me for the extra HD FM channels, with different and highly interesting programming. Also very sensitive tuner for distant regular FM reception. But I still have not figured out their obscure method of setting presets. Also when HD reception fades temporarily in fringe reception areas, the radio switches back to ordinary FM and is laborious to set back to an HD channel. Extremely annoying when working outside, which is the whole point of using one of these. But I put up with it to get the HD channels.Have used at least 5 of these, for countless hours over a number of years. Great FM radio with excellent sensitivity and selectivity
This little FM radio is amazing. For years I have been searching for a small, portable FM radio that has great reception coupled with great selectivity. The Insignia NS-HD01 fits these demands. I am able to listen to FM stations out to about 100 miles comfortably, depending on topography. Under tropospheric enhancement I have heard stations up to 200 miles away. To use the HD and RDS functions, a strong, local signal must be tuned, however. The build quality and feel of the radio is excellent. Worth every penny to those who desire a high quality pocket digital FM radio.This little FM radio is amazing. I was so disappointed to learn that Best Buy discontinued this item, and was so happy to learn that ebay had this item in new condition, at a reasonable price. Because it's HD, the sound can go in and out depending on your reception, weather, etc. However, it is well worth it for me to hear those in-between stations that you can't get otherwise, and with no subscriber fees no less! This item would make a great gift for that audiophile in your life, or for yourself when you grow tired of "normal" radio, and don't have unlimited data to use your smartphone apps all day.I was so disappointed to learn that Best Buy discontinued this item, and was so happy to learn that ebay had this item in new condition, at a reasonable price.
