This game is well made, the gameplay is fun; The game is best described as the story itself, It starts off slow then gets better and better as you progress. I liked the combat system, its mechanics invite you to try new things and it keeps it intersting and varied. Collecting items and upgrades is always fun for me, so I wasted no time in wandering around getting everything, the wolrd is vast and the scenery is very pleasing to the eye, there MANY breathtaking places and the camera angles are just PERFECT. Wandering the Castle and the City while fighting monsters is just so good! Not SOTN good but VERY good! I could talk for hours about everything I liked about this game. What I didnt like though was the ending of the game, i mean what happens right up to the end is all great and awesome, theres twists and good build up....and then splat......... Anytwho money spent buying this game is well spent; If you like Castlevania, you will love this game! (Duh!)Read full review

Lods of Shadow 2 is a vast improvement on the first game in many areas. Production value, game play, story concept are all awesome. Love the fact that Patrick Stewart is still the voice of Zobek (but not narrating between chapters like in the first game). LOS2 is not so segmented as the first game was. You're moving through different environments to complete specific missions and once you gain enough powers and figure out where the different portals and passages lead you can go pretty much wherever you want and collect items or complete challenges you may have passed up earlier. You also technically get 3 different weapons all with special techniques that can be purchased and upgraded. The enemies and bosses are a lot more varied and challenging. One thing I'm really happy they got rid of in LOS2 is the clumsy titan fights from the first game where you're climbing around on the rock titans smashing their week spots and trying not to get shaken off. Another improvement is the cut-scene action sequences have much easier to notice triggers. They change things up a bit too with sequences where you required to do a bunch of covert sneaking around rather than head-on confrontation. Another cool aspect is that Alucard is in the game. I was a big fan of Symphony of the Night for PS1 so it was pretty neat...although it would be cooler if they included some sort of DLC missions where you get to play as him. The only thing I wasn't too happy about was the final boss fight. Compared to some of the other ones you experience in the game, it's a little tame and not as challenging as it could've been considering who the boss is. The ending is also a little lame. Not to spoil it for anyone but I was really hoping for a bit more resolution to the central motivation of the main character. It definitely left a few questions unanswered. Overall I would definitely recommend this game to anyone who has already played the first one and I say that only because you'll appreciate how many improvements there are. It's actually pretty addictive and has the type of flow that could allow you to play through the whole thing at once.Read full review

this is one of the best games i've played on the PS3. graphics are beautiful, gameplay is extremely fun, soundtrack is epic and classic, reminds me of the first Castlevania games. everything about it, so far, has been good. true to the franchise, reminded me a lot of the old NES versions, it has that same feel to it, but so much better. Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 rocks, and Konami never disappoints.

A fun action adventure with a capturing and interesting take on the classic "Dracula" story. The level design gives a beautiful relation of the character's emotions and helps immerse the player in the story. It may not be as colorful as the first, because it is set in a sprawling modern day metropolis instead of a renaissance era. That does not take away from the level design or tone of the game. In fact it adds to the bleak and emotionless society man kind has now become. The controls are responsive with no lag or frustrating mashing to get that single response. Loading time is not too long and you can finally control the cameras! Also there are a lot more areas to explore within the levels. By far on of the best games I have played to date that includes all games.
it's my fave since 1987 ! I am a huge fan of the CastleVania series, I was very careful not to fall in to spoilers on this one, I am still playing it, I am %10 on the game and I am loving it.

Having just finished the original and wanting to see how the story continued, I had to find this one. No local stores had a copy so I looked online. Found a complete version for a good price so I pulled the trigger. It arrived as expected and with zero damage. I played through LOS2 with no problems as well. Overall it was a good purchase.
