Be Carful! Product was as described, but appears to be made from wood pellets, rather than wool, which I wrongly was expecting. The description should be clearer about what the product is made from. I'm not putting negative feed back as this partly my mistake. Buyer beware. Looks and smells exactly like biomass wood pellet fuel.

Very effective but not 100%
Great product - very reasonably priced, organic and does help deter slugs. It's not 100% protection - I've discovered the occasional slug gliding across it - but definitely seems to help to discourage them. A late evening patrol with a torch is an effective way to catch any slugs that are still determined. I've found that these pellets seem to go mouldy (or cause whatever's underneath them to mould) in a greenhouse, but this doesn't happen outdoors. Great product - very reasonably priced, organic and does help deter slugs. Disappointed
The product reacted when watered exactly as described, and it seems to be keeping slugs from getting onto plants but it has not deterred snails. I had several pots of herbs growing from seed and still found myself having to remove snails by hand (after they manage a good feast on the new shoots) I tried over a couple of weeks by first keeping the pellets wet and then secondly just watering from the bottom so the pellets stayed dry but the snails didn’t seem to be bothered either way. As the description does not say ‘stop’ but only ‘deter’, perhaps I was expecting better results than what was achieved. Eco friendly and totally ineffective
We are trying to be 'circle of life' friendly in our gardening. The product appealed on that basis. It gets two stars because it is fairly easy and clean to apply, and the large bags aren't too heavy. It gets two stars because it simply does not work. Planting, both potted-on seedlings and mature plants being attacked within 3 days of application. Careful picking through and hand removal of various offenders followed. Actually works
Put this stuff around some plants that were being massacred by slugs. After two wet days the plants have not been nibbled and are recovering. This stuff is a bit pricey, and be prepared for the pellets to swell considerably, but it does seem to work which, to my mind, makes it well worth it.

Great natural product
Really good for keeping the slugs away once it dries, and it’s pretty fun to apply to the garden as well, if you’re a bit sad like me XP I found that it did a good job last year when paired with beer traps around the edges, and has mulched down nicely over winter. You do have to be mindful of ways that the slugs can get around it though (on bamboo stakes & overhanging foliage), because they will take advantage of that opening!
