A note though for HP laptop users: At first it didn't work with my laptop's unused USB-C port, but it did work when plugged into a USB-A port. Searching for reasons why, revealed that after being plugged into a USB-A port, it should work when plugged back into the USB-C port after a reboot, which was indeed the case. So I'm thankful for the provided USB C to A adaptor. (Plugging it into an A port caused the necessary USB driver(s) to update automatically.)
