The title gives no clue, but once you see it, you are a fan!
The show that saved Public Television decades ago in a Red-Green Show marathon. Uncle Red, and the totally male membership of Possum Lodge, where inventing useless or esoteric stuff whith some practicality to it, is the order of the day.This show to me is the pinnacle of good natured Canadian TV. SCTV and the Red-Green show made it worth tuning in to see how far from your best educated guess the lodge members would end up. There is also much experienced advice about life, such as Car Talk or when The Experts answer audience letters, which is often true. Women were often asked if they want a woman in the show, but they said, "No. We want to see what men are like when women are not around." And this show is definitely it. Insanely cheap don't buy!
This box set was a complete waste of money. The cases the discs come in don't have any standoff on the spindle, this causes the extremely cheap discs to get all scratched up. In addition to the scratched disc problem, the discs themselves are of the lowest quality I've ever seen. Two of them had a factory defect making 2 and 3 episodes on each disc unwatchable. Another disc is delaminating and splitting right into two layers!! Save your money!!!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Country approach to Life and keeping things working
I watched Red Green with my parents. My dad could FIX anything much like Red Green. My dad and I loved Red Green's approach to solving problem and that duct tape could repair almost anything. We know people like that. Pro's is that every time I watch the DVD I will think of my parents and the fun and laughter we had watching the show. Con's: I guess we started watching the show after it developed so the later years were more funny but still it shows how different people approaches life moments. He's The BEST!!!!
There are 2 kinds of people. Those that love 'Red Green' and those that have never heard of him. I pity the second group. His little crew of oddballs is as funny as any comedy group ever. His wisdom and incite into life is beyond equal. The characters and skits are gut busting hilarious. I've been watching his show on PBS since it started. Unfortunately they just ran out of material a few years ago. Too Bad! But, now I have the entire collection. My life is complete PS: For those unfortunate souls out there that have never seen any of his shows, go to Youtube and look him up. Redneck, if there ever was one.
Really, we haven't watched the dvd set yet. But, what I can remember from watching the show on tv, it was very funny. Too busy with work & home projects during the summer months. Likely won't be watching the dvd set until the winter months. If you can believe it, I have a relative by the same name. Authentic Canadian Humor.
If you love slapstick Canadian Humor this is the ultimate. The first couple of years were a bit corny in some parts but it did grow into a tremendously funny show. I paid a lot of money for this series but the old adage of laughter being the best medicine has never been more true.
