    Workmanship and materials.

    I remember having one as a child. In fact I can recall it to a tee. My only disappiontment is the materials used in the gyro. Mine was heavier and gyro polished and solid. I guess this will have to do. My grandchildren will enjoy them I'm sure. Thanks for bringing back a childhood toy with an educational slant that doesn't require batteries or makes too much noise......!!!

    They don't build them like the used to.

    I purchased this gyroscope trusting it would be good quality. My dad told me how the first gyroscope, that my grandmother purchased for him during the 1964 Worlds Fair in New York, spun for several minutes each time he used it before it would come to a stop. However, the gyroscope I received, only lasted for 20 to 30 seconds before it woobled to a stop. Dad told me that the quality and finish of his gyro was exceptional, but the one I purchased was noticeably inferior in manufacturing and performance. It too bad it did not work as I expected.

    My review of the Tedco Scientific Gyroscope

    I got one for the 3 year old I get to play with. I figure if it made such an impression on me when I was 4 or 5, it ought to do that for her too. Same gold and red metal colors I remember and it spins like always, using a string for power spins. I might get a longer string, but I'm not sure if the force would be too great. It works just like advertised, seems to defy gravity and does things that don't quite seem legit, but they are. I have not yet set it on a string, but that's a cool trick, and who knows I might even get a second one to try the double gyroscope trick. While I did get it for the 3 year old, like all gifts for kids, I was going to get my toy time in too lol. Solid metal, seems to want to stay aligned in the tiny holes the rod spins inside of.     Old fashioned science toy

    I used this toy to teach my grandchildren about a gyro. I showed them the way it worked. How it would stand sideways and ignor gravity. I explained how gyros were used in missles and air craft for navigation. I was looking for more toys like this. Solid construction. All you need is a piece of string.

    Gyroscope Unleashed!

    Every child in America should have one of these gyroscopes! They are very entertaining and amazing to watch as they spin and stay in an upright position. The the only thing I would see to improve on would be put something on the end of the string to be able to pull it better. I always put a key ring on all the ones I give away. If the string breaks you can always use dental floss! This works well too. It is high entertainment, I have never seen a child boy or girl that did not love to play with this toy! It's a must-have for every kid to get to experience. I ordered from this website because of their great price, and my wife's grandkids came to Indiana from Texas.
