    a good rival

    This intense war on materialism, on western consumerism and corporate greed, is an interesting listen for any nu-metal fan. This CD is probably their most melodic and best produced, almost radio-friendly. It combines mid-era P.O.D. with late-career Stavesacre and perhaps a bit of old-school Justified. Illuminate is a bonafide hit and there's mush to satisfy. As with most P86 outings, this likewise has some misses to go with the hits though. Even though long-time fans might be annoyed with the retro 80s hints, they are still notable. I detect some DuranDuran, REM, The Cure, and Echo and the Bunneymen. The last three songs are especially creative.
