Lisle 34900 Water Sensor Wrench, A must have for your Diesel Duramax tool box
If your like me and enjoy doing your own maintenance on your Chevy Duramax there are specific tools you will need to do these tasks properly. One of these tools is the Lisle 34900 water sensor wrench. This tool allows you to easily remove the somewhat fragile plastic water sensor that screws into the water separator canister that is used on Duramax engines. Some would say a cresent wrench or adjustable channel locks could be used and this is true but a simple slip is all it takes to damage the sensor. The Lisle tool is cheap and inexpensive and does the job. I would have rated it 5 stars if it was a little thicker allowing a better bite on the sensor. To replace your water separator remove the right inner fender (its not hard), unplug the water sensor connector. Remove the water ... Empty the Diesel out of the canister. Now using the Lisle remove the water sensor and install into the the canister. Install the new canister, properly tighten and reconnect the connector. Depress the primer plunger until firm then loosen the bleed screw to remove trapped air. When fuel begins to come out of the bleed hole tighten the bleeder, pump plunger until firm. Now test start your truck. Check for any leaks, re-install inner fender and reset water separator life sensor and your done! Happy Motoring...
